Since yesterday my punto GT brakes are active on my cinq but is it possible to replace the main brake cilinder as well?

Now my pedal stroke is a few cm instead of a hard pedal before.

The brake performance is better than ever before, and this is with standard brakepads and discs. Saturday I get my new pads and disks

Ferodo DS2500 Pads and Sandtler RS discs

Hi,
Make sure the pads are set in the calipers correctly or you will get flex which shows up as extra pedal travel...

Thanks

I bleed the brake callipers for a few strokes to get new oil in it. After that I pumpt up the cilinders untill the push the pads against the discs.

The rubber brake hoses are already replaces for steel before this swap, this is why the pedal was very hard and direct. The stroke isn't much longer but it is longer. This is why I asked this question.

The discs can I order in The Netherlands where I live, only the manufacturer is from Germany. If there's a importer in the K I don't know. (remind the price is a Piece)

Maybe when I fit a Punto GT Main brake cilinder the pedal is more directly with the resonse. it's not necessarily to convert this but maybe helpfull to get it even better.

Hi,
Maybe the brakes just need to run in a bit before the pedal travel gets back to normal.

Thanks

This is is not what I asked, did you bleed the whole system not just the front brakes in the order that the manual states? As there should be very little brake travel, certainly no more than there was with the original set up.

Uhmmm don't get it

I disconnect the brake hose from the old calliper and direct put the new on.
The new ones where almost empty cause i pushed the cilinders almost completly in.

After I connect the GT callipers I Bleed it for a few times to get new oil in and maybe some air out. The whole system is refreshed about 2 months ago.

The travel isn't much longer than before. So i think it's oke by now.

BTW Today I bought my new discs and ferodo 2500 pads. Tonight I place them on my car.

just pushing it till you get brake fluid out isnt bleeding the system.the sequence on the cinq is left rear, right front, right rear and left front.its a 2 person job unless yuo have an ez bleed.get your helper to pump the brake pedal steadily till you get no air and then get them to hold the pedal down on the final stroke while you tighten the bleed nipple.
repeat for all 4 brakes ensuring the brake fluid never goes below the 'min' mark

if youve just replaced the calipers the whole system wont need bleeding just the calipers.

have you got the correct pads in? see how it feels after you fit your new ones.
