Changed this mounting today.Only thing is,when the old one came off,I forgot which way round it went.Can anyone confirm,which bit is up through the recess in the floor.

it goes on the way you've got it in that pic, ie that lil dish type bit on the top in the pic goes up into the chassis kinda thing (if that makes sense)

Just for info, this part could sometimes be referred to as gearbox mount and for some strange reason the Fiat parts folk call it an "Elastic Pad"

how can u tell if an engine mount is buggered btw - im sure mine are, but dunno what a dead one looks like

You'll usually get a grinding noise under acceleration if the rear one is dead, sounds like the gearbox is toast. Caused by metal to metal contact within the mount and possibly exhaust to anti roll bar contact. You may be able to see the innards coming out of the mount too.

I think I need to renew Charlie's. We now think the clunk isn't the shocks
as it's not related to bumps in the road :\

ok kinda on topic, when i undid the bolt at the bottom (the like metal bit that comes off engine, the bolt that goes through there into the mount) it turned but wouldnt come off, how do i get it off?

You need to undo the two 13mm bolts, withdraw the mount complete, then undo the long centre bolt later if you wish to.

thats what i did was just asking ready for the main bolt tomorrow heh got a pass side mount and a rear mount to go on tomorrow heh 1242 almost ready cheers for help buddy
