I changed the fuel filter on my 99 Sei sporting and the thing goes like a train now (well sort of ;)). I suspect mine was the original as I could barely blow through it so it must have been really bunged up. The difference is amazing, it pulls much harder throughout the rev range and it now loves to rev while before it was breathless at high RPM. If you don't know when you fuel filter was last changed then do it, you won't regret it (y).

yup yup can't agree more :).

See is it possible to relocate the fuel filter for easier access? may be a pipe to replace the original, then fit one in the engine bay ?

Certainly it's possible, but do you have to change the fuel filter often enough to warrant the work? Also, at least here it is there's plenty of space around it.

is this hard to do? or is it a case of looking in a haynes manual?

Not difficult, its under the middle of the car, looks like a soft drink can. This is only fitted to SPi cars, MPi have it in the tank and its a non serviceable part.

Do it after the car has sat for a while, takes the pressure off the system, so there is less fuel wastage.

Cheers

Remember the cinq is for life :p so still a long time to go! Is just once i moved it, i could fit one of those "sports Fuel filter :p" Those cool looking clear one :p

anyway it won't causes any problem, if i just stick a pipe to replace where the original filter is and just fit a filter somewhere else. This won't causes aby flow problem right ?

Thanks

Its one of the first jobs I do on every car I buy.
You,re totally right on.
They go a lot better once its done and fuel mileage improves as well.
