Hi, Im new to the forums and am looking to buy a cinquecento sporting. I have my driving test this week.

Is there anything i should look for when buying a cinq sporting and anything i should avoid??

Also, does anyone have any tips about how to get lower insurance, i have it down to about £1300, is this as low as i can get it??

Thanks

Matt

Oh ok..thanks :)

lol, im trying my hardest to get older..its just not working though :p

Thanks for your help

There's a lot of factors which affect insurance, age and location or probably the biggest ones but other things like annual mileage - if you're not planning on driving a lot - will help to lower it if you go on a reduced mileage policy. Also, don't even consider modifying at this stage as it'll just end up costing more than it's worth.

Hope that helps, if only a little :)

Yeah everything in my mums name, and im a named driver.
I wont be getting my first cinq till around january, as i wont have the money to buy one and insure it till then :(
i have been looking around the autotrader and the classifieds on here etc etc and have found good cinqs for around £700, is that a good price??

sorry for the questions, bit new to car scene lol

thanks

Dont worry i have got it sussed lol..well im gonna try and get insured as the main driver later lol

but if i cant..if anything happens..then i was driving to the shops ;)

who is the best insurance company to go with? as in the cheapest basically..

thanks

Hi Matt

I was insured at 18 on my dads insurance as a named driver for about 500, as i lived at home and he drove the car too. I would recommend tesco as they allow you to build up no claims bonus as a named driver and they are cheap!

We just bought a really nice cinq sporting for £650 its done 60K miles, see my 'garage'.

As the FAQ's says, look for rust at the edges of the boot, headgasket -white residue on the oil filler plug and plenty of bills for servicing etc...

i look for original dealer number plates front and back as these are hard to replace if the cars been in a bump

and welcome to the forum!

 is that how much they're going for now?i only payed £160 with tax and mot for mine in november,it too is in very good condition apart from the drivers seat and it's only got 62000 miles on it with a fsh

great car though matt i would recommend one,but be warned they're addictive (y)

Thanks for that purf :) i will have a look at tescos later, i can only get insured as a named driver at the moment :( if i do it with me as the main driver its gonna cost me £3000, which is a bit stupid lol. I will have a look at your cinq in a bit, there is a blue one for sale just up the road from me for £700, but when i ride past it, it always has the spare on it :S

haha, thanks willismeiwas, i have always loved them :p dunno why, i have just always been attracted to something about them lol

cant wait to get one, even though i have to wait till january :(

thanks guys

Doh - new i shouldnt have admitted that! Its really nice though and has had lady owners and no work required (for a few weeks)... :) I got my one (purf) for £300 which needed work.

Iv seen mint ones go for over 1000 on ebay...

Dont worry about the insurance - im sure youl work something out. remember limited miles, adding older female named drivers etc...

then wait till you modify it and have to tell the insurance company ! haha

"be warned they're addictive"

I second that!

yeah..i agree that they are addictive..i have only seen them around and i have fallen in love with them lol

just want january to come around quickly so i can go out and buy it!!! lol

yeah im tryin to think of people i can add to it lol :)

thanks for all your help guys, much apriciated (i dunno how to spell it lol)
