My Cinq Sporting has thrown its cam belt, can anyone tell me if there will be any issues with valves hitting pistons or will I be ok to fit a new belt and reset the timing?
The tensioner has seized and thrown the belt off. The water pump was only changed about 2k ago so am happy its ok. Can anyone point me in the direction of instruction on how to static time the engine, SPI 8V.
It's in the guides. Easy job, although access is a bit limited (remove the driver side engine mounting).
Never had to remove the mount, although it is slightly easier to get to the tensioner with the headlamp out.
