Recently i have had this problem with my cinquecento, and i need to know what it is and how much its gonna cost me to fix it

If i push the accelerator down quickly in my car i get a 'puht puht' noiseand sometimes if i floor it even quicker i get a 'pop' noise  . Also the car has not been as responsive due to this.

Any ideas?

Many Thanks

Joe :)

jamie- cheers, my bro is gonna check that
dave- erm, trust me you DON'T want the pop noise, and fuel injection cleaner-> where and how much? thanx

mine was doing this when the zorst was blowing (lol sie wouldnt let me fix at like midnight day before drag strip :p) - did sound cool though! :D

ummm, if you hold your hand over the tailpipe, for few secs then move away, it should have more pressure behind it, more of a push (if that makes sense) if it doesnt then chances are you've got a blowing bit somewhere, whip out the zorst putty :p or wait till its cold out so you'll be able to see the smoke from the blow'y bit underneath (hey it costs nothing to give this quick check anyhoo :))

There was no way I was letting you get an early night and sacrifice the drinking so you could fix that exhaust. You know that popping got you some serious respect from the Nova boys at the Dragstrip!

okay sounds simple enough, thanks for your reply. I don't mind the drop in performance... well not alot, but the noises are just plain embarassing :bang:

okay i'll check it all out tomorrow... its already dark out! and plus there scary trick-or-treaters  :p

Okay its definately a prob with the exhaust. Going to get it looked at tonight.

dave, i added half a bottle of 'Redex Petrol Injector Treatment' the 250ml one, and i noticed an improvement almost instantly. cheers mate

Problem Solved....

Ok, it was headgasket and the valve seats in the end.

There was no coolant loss or mayo because of the location of where headgasket was damaged. :(

However, the improvement afterwards was unbelieveable.

Mod's can you lock this thread, please.
