Hello everyone

i am currently rebuilding a 1242 8v (75) engine however the cambelt sproket on the crankshaft is broken(the woodruff key). can i transfer the camshaft sproket, crankshaft sproket and waterpump from the 1108 and get a new belt matching the 1108?. both the 1108 and 1242 engine are from cars of the same year. hope that makes sense.

it the tooth gap and number of teeth is the same then you can just swap crank sprocket over

But what if they are not the same can he change the whole lot over from the 1108?

Yes, but you'll then have to find a belt to suit...........

Much better just to take the belt to a scrappy (or a FIAT dealer).
