Do you have to remove the dash to make this happen, if so how does it come out?

On a sei the dash can stay put on when removing the pedals big bracket, but then it's a different dash.

I didn't manage to get the mechanism out today ( I did get the engine out though), but it does look as though it will come out without removing the dash.

However, it looks as though the sterring column will need to be disconnected.

Will report later.

Yup, the nuts on the drivers side are in the engine bay, the passenger side are on the habaticle side. We got to three of the nuts on the habaticle side, need to pop the clutch quadrant to get at the fourth, then the four in the engine bay should be easy, the engine is now on the floor.

I just ran out of time this afternoon, I'll do a bit more tomorrow eve.

Five in the engine bay, a sneeky extra one that looks like its holding the brake pipes in place, but is holding the pedal box in.

I can now confirm, that other than the steering column needing moved, it will come out with the dash in place, providing the previous owner but one hadn't wrapped his alarm wiring all around it!!

Hi i am currently doing a conversion at work (1st one), Have found it much easier to remove dash as glove box type pocket restricts access to left servo mounting and as car has power steering this also requires dash removalas it obstructs the motor.Entire brake pedal assemblie removed this afternoon and tomorrow new pedal assemblies then out with gearbox as clutch lever faces the wrong way . roll on the weekend.

Hi DET500, I wasnt aware the gearbox had to be physically removed for this conversion?? Can you confirm?
Many Thanks (am going to attempt over the next couple of weeks I think =/

The clutch cable on a manual car pulls the clutch arm towards the bulkhead.

I think the previous poster is suggesting that the clutch arm needs to be turned, have a look under the bonnet and confirm, he hasn't been active since August this year (on this forum that is)
