hi, only had my sei sport for about amonth but i,m only getting about 60-70 miles from £10 of petrol. surely i should get more than this.
i,ve looked under the car and can't see any leaks but you can smell petrol around the car.any ideas would be grateful.cheers:)

town driving or motorways?
when was its last full service?

hi, both town/motorway driving. i think it was serviced about ayear ago.
would it benefit from new plugs, leads, filter or would an engine tuner be better.cheers:)

plugs and leads arent too expensive, so worthwhile doing anyway if it hasnt been changed for ages... wont necessarily (?) improve your mpg though
maybe try some redex fuel additive. this will clean the injectors and make things nice and smooth and clean

if you think about it you're getting approx 280 miles to the tank (costs me £37 to fill from empty to brimming, so I'm rounding up here), from a mix of town and motorway.

I'd say that was about right - I'm getting 160 miles to a tank pure town driving, and with my heavy acceleration I see that as about normal - though my mpg has improved since a change of leads, plugs, filter, oil and coolant...

At todays prices, £10 is about 10 litres which is just over 2 gallons in old money. So 30mpg isn't great, but if you are sitting in traffic with all the electrics running its not dreadful.

Basic service, make sure the oil is fresh and the right grade, and that all three filters are replaced.

Cheers

mine is an 02 plate and it got recalled by arnold clark last year (a month after i bought it from them) due to a faulty petrol tank! THey said at the time there quite a lot of seicentos being recalled due to this.

Mine roughly does 320 miles to a tank (£34 to fill from empty)- thats a mixture of motorway and town driving but i always get at least 300 to a tank and im not shy on the accelerator ;)

I seen a few on here that have had the recall through recently even though its been around for years.. Worth checking as it is a bit low that mpg, its what my old Sei would do if you ranted the tits off it all the time i reckon

take it that wasnt meant for me!!!!!
