just picked up car from garage from it getting the cooling fan fixed so it didnt make awful grinding sound anymore. However...the place being a crash repair centre spotted that it had been in a crash previously with ease B) Everything in the front end has shifted back about 2cms, so it makes sense of the front door paint rubbing on the front wing and the whole problem ive had with my fan. additionally we thought it was good that a new bonnet latch had been fitted but now has to be bent away from the engine to catch the loop because of this shunt. im just dissapointed that no one owns up to these things when you buy it...could save everyone bita time and cash.
ne1 else had problems like this?

Well, a HPi check may also yield such information, but I may be wrong, not having done one!:);)

1242cc Engine to go in soon, boot delock soon, ETech Wing still in garage, so's the effing K+N!

unfortunately even HPI checks don't show up all crashes, cars and smashed up plenty of times and no one's told about (insurance not involved etc...) best thing to do is take a trained mechanic who also knows about body work, but even then some crash damage can be well hidden

yeahafter buying mine i noticed it seems to have had a front end ding, the NS front tyre is wearing on the outside and im hoping its just tracking and not the chassis.sorry to hear that cinquechicken[V]

The tyre wearing there isn't a result of a smash, mine did that and after speaking to lots of owners on the Cinqs & Seis List (orginal and best) we came up with this "It is a characteristic of the car"

Weird yes but thats it! had my tracking checked a few times and it's always spot on. Try swopping or the two front tyres for even wear or take the roundabouts a bit slower!

One day I will have a reason to buy a dump valve!

im pritty sure mine has been cause when i did my front speakers (doors) the inside of the door had some obvious repair work done to it and 1 side of my car is a slightly different shade of red to the other and u can see the spray line at the back wicth is hidden by the boot when closed and the serial numbers missing of the metal plate on the body in the engine bay

My original 98 seicento sporting, I think had been in a heavy shunt, the shade of red at the front on the bonnet and one of the wings was more orangey than the rest of the car. Also had cooling problems, the force of the impact had also split the engine head!!! So after getting a brand new engine of a fiat dealer (luckily still under dealer warranty)! And getting everything sorted, a van drove into the side of me doing about 30mph when i was stationary - that wrote it off properly! However, we all learn from experience so it made me ever more vigilant when I came to buy my new 2001 seicento sporting (black one) - which is a genuine cracker of a car! :)

:ROFLMAO:, my last cinq got picked on by a skoda estate lol :p

my last one had also been in a accident before i bought it which wasnt on the HPI check, my new cinq is also a bit of a grey area too, however if mine was in a crash no expense has been spared repairing it as it has abarth bumper still etc (trust me, any slight knock would crack a bumper on a cinq ;) u gotta remember that being hit at bout 10mph from behind wrote my last one off lol :p)

Abarth Kitted Cinq Sporting, New lil siggy pic coming soon, till then.... not much really lol

How do you tyres wear? Is it on the edges? My front ones are worn on the edges, but more on the passenger side (due to the way we go around round abouts). Does this normally happen? I thought it was because I drive fast and mechanics think it's the tracking.

My passenger side front wore bald on the outside of the tyre. Was the tracking that was a mile out!

City miles [:0] I only do city miles too, but that's where the tires will wear mostly at the edges. The main section of my tire is great, and the rear tires all almost like new, but crumbling because they're 5 years old [}:)]
