You talking about the CAT there? I assume so.

A neighbour of mine is an MOT inspector, cars going in the station where he works will not pass an MOT if the cat has been removed, the whole emmisions system is designed for it to be fitted, this is just an instance at his particular station, other places may not be that bothered.

if ill put 100bucks into his pocket, still it will be a problem?????? (y)

However, the guys who pull you up at the roadside won't be your friends.........

what have this to do with mot or decat of your cinq?? :) mot (in slovakia it called "stk" - station of technical controls) its sometimes very victimizing - "your rear left wheel braking power is 0.000001 point less than right and you won't get it..", or your "first aid kit(compulsory here) is one month after expiration", and lot of other things.. so the best way is to keep yopur car in good condition and pass mot with inspector who you know-he won't be riding you with such stupid things..only cops will do, on the road (n)

Over here there are (infrequent) road side stops where someone (I guess from the DVLA -- the UK vehicle licensing organisation) will cheerfully inspect your car for compliance, after the cops have run everything through their databases. If they don't at least see something that resembles a CAT, you're done for.

hehe, here its not so bad at this time, dont know for how long, but cops are checking your tyre condition, tyre measurements(if its the same as in owner certificate),your first aid kit, and other stuff, but usualy won't look under car, or under bonnet or inside boot-but when you registrate imported car they will send you to "originality check" - its something similar that u was writing about - they will check codes all around the car, check your VIN through some xrays, so seriously crashed cars or some stolen/rebuilded cars dont have a chance...but, you only need to know the right persons...... :D:D
