Technical Removing ignition barrel with no keys

Lost keys to an on going project I’ve since sourced another barrel keys and lock set with fuel cap

Can I remove the old barrel from the steering mech housing without the key or do I need the complete new steering mech

Get a quality drill bit and drill out the centre, then, with a ‘pick set’, find the ‘tab’ and push in whilst pulling what’s left of the barrel out…
