Right, ever since I've had this cinq the exhaust has rattled against the heat shields in one place or another occasionally. Usually when I'm trying to park near my house at stupid o clock in the morning.
I've already sorted all 3 of the engine mounts, I've had two different manifolds, downpipes, centre sections and rear sections.
When I made my new rear section I purposely tucked it up tighter to the body to give myself more ground clearance, since lowering it I'd managed to smash one clamp clean off and muller it's replacement within a couple of days.
Anywho, having spent some time underneath I'm wondering if it actually needs the heat shields. Apart from the spur that protects the fuel filter the rest of it seems somewhat unnecessary.
So, my plan is to take them off and make a purpose made one for the fuel filter.
Is my carpet gonna catch fire if I remove em?
Am I missing a really obvious reason not to take them off and bin em?
