...yet another lowering question.

Right - Sporting springs on a standard 899 cinq.

Am I just talking out of my rear end, or would it drop the car to sporting height - and if so what sorta drop would this be approx?

(y)

20mm IIRC

:D Nice... reckon I might need to look in to that.

The question is - to tell insurers or not?
They've been kind to me in the past - didn't care about my alloys, or backbox, or ice....

I know technically I'd be replacing a stock fiat part with a stock fiat part, but with them being classed as a mod for this particular car I'm thinking I should let them know.

Well the official answer would be yes you should tell them, but TBO if you replaced them with FIAT parts you could probably get away with it as it will look more or less std

BTW I've got a set of sporting springs and dampers in the garage, just along the M62 from you as well if you want then ;) buy me a couple of beers and they are yours

ah, now it all makes sense!! RR will know

hehe :yum:

Just so everyone else can put their twopenneth in -

What set me off was that my mate is a mechanic - he seems to think that not only will the struts be different sizes (this is mainly in reference to the front ones here), but also different stiffness to the sporting ones - Alan over at woodcocks fiat specialists basically said the same thing when I spoke to him about it.

The conclusion was that the coils will go on with stock height and stiffness - but the car's height will be N/A and given enough time, because of the additional strain on the macpherson struts, they would bend and / or snap...
