Hi all. Today the oil change notification started on the car every other time this has happened I have taken to our local fiat for a service and oil change but this time they cannot fit me in before we are due to go on holiday. My question is, if I go for the oil change and service at a different garage does the fact that the oil change notification is no longer there indicate that they have reset the counter on the engine ecu so that the DPF will continue to regenerate at the right intervals. Many thanks in advance

Sensible question to ask as this catches many garages out.

There are TWO counters/flags that have to be reset

1) Service Mileage/Time counter
2) Engine Oil Change flag

Of these the Oil Change flag, which is monitored/managed by the engine ECU and NOT the Service computer node, is the most important and often overlooked by garages. Sadly this is something the motorist can not check unless they have the right diagnostic equipment.

I'm not familiar the Bravo 1.6 mjet so when you say the "oil change notification" is that completely different to the Service notification?
