Hello y’all

So went to change break pads and discs today on my ‘08 1.9 Bravo and didn’t realise I needed a rewind tool/that rewind pistons existed. Nor did my father inlaw and applied straight forward pressure to the piston.

Has this fornicated it ? Or can I just buy a rewind tool and use that ?

I really don’t want to buy a new caliper, I’ve seen the cost :(

Help

You need two tools right and left hand thread. Dont turn the pistons in the wrong direction it WILL wreck them. Tools are about £20 on ebay. With the correct tool the job is easy. Search this site on this subject as there is lots of good info that helped me. I think its the near side that is left hand thread to wind back, but check this.

The thread behind the piston is the self adjuster for the handbrake isnt it? If so can you not just put the brakes back together and check the handbrake?

Hello everyone! Just a quick update, thank you very much for all your help, did a search, bought the tool and my beautiful Bravo sailed through its MOT with one advisory(y)(y)(y)
