All,

In the interests of keeping my 58 T-Jet 150 in tip top condition I am thinking about carrying out a strip down/clean rebuild of the VL36 Turbo.

Has anyone done this and if so any pitfalls/tips would be greatly appreciated. Or better still is the a manual for the VL36 available?

Many thanks in advance

You could rebuild it.. but it's not worth it because you could not get it balanced.
The best DIY you could do is buy a replacement CHRA and just swap that out.
Or just pay a shop with the right machining to balance, to do the work.

Are you having issues to think you need a rebuild?

Although I understand it's nice to keep things tip top, I don't really get the point of rebuilding a turbo if it's working fine to start with. But hey, each to their own :)
