Hello , just wondering if anybody has had a similar experience or can can shed some light on a poor starting problem we have been having with my parents 2007 Bravo 1.4 t-jet 120.
It basically started about a month ago. It wouldn't start one morning ( turned over fine , just didn't appear to be firing ). called a local auto electrician out who couldn't fault it with his reader. Eventually deciding a coil pack or cam sensor to be the probable cause- these were replaced and the car eventually fired.
a few days later the problem reoccurred after the car was parked up over night.
It was taken to a local specialist who also could not fault it with his diagnostic tools, but after further testing revealed it was low in compression in two of the cylinders. It was thought the cause to be incorrect oil used at the previous service causing problems with hydraulic valves. The engine was flushed- correct synthetic oil added. It then ran fine for over a week, starting on a morning no problem.
It has now started again with the same problem , Not wanting to start after being parked up over night . Once it eventually gets going on a morning it runs perfect and will continue to stop and start no problem until it is parked up over night.
Any further information on this problem would be appreciated.
thanks
Chris
