I had to brake fairly sharply to avoid driving into the back of a guy on a Vespa which had just stalled (yes, a clash of the Italians). When I braked (broked, broke!?) the hazard warning lights came on all by themselves and then went off when I pulled away.

I couldn't find anything in the manual so wondered if anyone else has noticed the same or if its a typical Italian quirk.

That happen to me tonight, I thought it was really cool. It never happened with my other japanese boxes and skoda octavia

Its not how hard you brake but how quickly you hit the pedal. The brakes also have EBD which should kick in so I suspect its the same system that triggers the hazards.

Try it, just not when anyone is about ;)

in my opinion the harzards come on way to early. Just embarrassing if you spank the car on a country road. Apparently.
