Odd one this: earlier today I was playing an MP3 CD in the Bravo yet it was still displaying the tracks from the USB stick on the dash display. Even changed the track name when I changed track on the CD!

Thought nothing of it until I tried to use the USB stick... which now produces no sound! It shows "media player" on the stereo display and the track names on the dash display, and cycles through folders and tracks as normal but without actually making any noise.

I've tried turning the stereo on and off again, changing USB sticks, switching ignition on and off, standing in a circle of stones during a full moon wearing a loincloth and drinking the blood of a virgin lamb... none of which has helped!

Has anyone else come across this? Any way to sort it (some sort of factory reset type option, perhaps) other than a trip to a Fiat dealer?

Thanks Tad-Bravo! (y)

Fuses out, fuses back in, powered back up and worked perfectly. Happy days! :D

(Now why didn't I think of that? )

To prevent this from happening again, push the voice command button and say stop when you want the media player to stop instead of switching to a different source (cd or tuner).

If you don't say stop, the media player will keep playing the music, you just won't hear it and it can get confused when you turn ignition off/on.

you're welcome by the way. :)

I never knew that! Never had this problem though. It's the auto start thing that annoys me.

Tried that, but it doesn't effect it. It's pretty hit or miss whether it will autoplay or not.

Have found that myself, changed to a branded stick and hey presto every time I turn the ignition on it plays. No more pulling the stick out and putting it back in or turning the ignition on and off again - it works all the time:D

I have a branded stick, but that's not my issue. I don't want it to autoplay but sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't.

Autoplay is off. I don't want it to start.

It's a 4GB SanDisk Cruzer Micro, so decent enough :)

And they're truly bleeding awkward to get to!

They're under the glovebox in the UK cars (RHD), and you pretty much have to lie in the footwell, with a flashlight in your mouth and a pair of needle-nosed pliers to get the fuses out.
