Hi

I just installed my Kenwood DNX5220BT, all works fine except the video. When trying to play it, it just says "PARKING OFF" and won't show anything as it assumes i'm moving. That's fine, but do any of you guys know which wire on the FIAT ISO harness is the parking brake signal wire(if there is any)?

I could of course just wire the parking sensor wire to ground...but that would of course mean that i can watch DVD's while i'm driving and that's illegal!

I believe there is no 'parking brake wire' in the Bravo's wireloom to the headunit.

The easiest way is to simply ground the wire. Yes it allows you to watch DVD's when driving which is illegal but if you don't wish to do this then simply don't put a DVD on whilst driving. You're also not meant to drive with your head out the window but the window is still there and can be opened. Doesn't mean you have to drive with your head out the window though because you can do it. Same with playing DVD's whilst driving.

If you insist on connecting it up properly to the parking brake then you will need to locate the wire that comes from the parking break lever and goes live when the brake is applied. Connect in to this wire and the headunit will work fine. The easiest place to find this wire is right next to the parking brake lever. When I say easiest though I mean easiest of all possible areas to find 'the wire'. It's still though on it's own not the easiest method to do. Particularly when there are countless small bolts etc in and around the headunit area that you could ground the cable too.

Good luck whatever method you choose.

well...that is too much work for such a simple thing... :)

It will be connected to the ground tomorrow!

It's the best way.

Having the radio on or a cd playing.Or taking glances at a Sat Nav or listening to it's instructions carefully or having a chatty passenger in the car are no more or less distracting than having a DVD playing.
