Bought a smaahed coupe!!! wanna put the turbo lump in ma bravo. any one done it got a complete coupe. so all the bits any pics or tip would be appreciated :bang:

Before you put the engine in put a new cambelt, tensioner, and camshaft variator on it, as if you had to change these in the future its a engine out job to do- officially anyway.

See if you can get the coupe' brakes on the bravo as well- 155bhp to 220 bhp, you'll need more stopping power.

Main problems i imagine would be:

placing/positioning the turbo hoses and intercooler/ oil cooler in the bravo,

Engine ecu matching the code ecu and keys- have you got all keys from both cars especially the red ones.

Good luck

Yeah got the complete car all it needs is an oil cooler for the engine to run the car was a stolen recovered and needs a light unit bonnet and wing to make it good.

I am planning on taking the engine, box, shafts, hubs and brakes and any other ancilleries i require. the ECU's are controled bythe immobiliser ECU which is a different unit.

Thanks for the info

can't imagine it would not be possible, the Merea has the same front end as the bravo/a, so all the extra bits required for the new engine should have the holes etc... to do a straight swap... but don't hold me to that... Perhaps take some pics when you're doing to to post up.

I'll make a complete log of the tranfser and a list of all the do's and dont's and post them (y)

If you need an oil cooler I should have one available soon. Full working order.

Nice one dude, just let me know when its available. mucho ap (y) preciated

My next door neighbour might be having a go at it tomorrow. On the coop, the oil cooler pipes are steel (hence they rust) and the cooler is aluminium. They corrode together and are very difficult to separate. Separation involves lots of heat, and large blowtorches! Generally either it works, or you melt the aluminium oil cooler. I'd imagine it could be interesting as there's residual oil in the cooler too. It might come with 100mls of free Mobil-1 Motorsport!
Hopefully the separation will work. I'll let you know either way.

Nice one H good luck with the seperation, I'l keep you informed of the transplant, I go this weekend to collect the beast from Glouscter. its a 97 coupe front end damage to the drivers side.

Damage:-

Headlight knackered
bonnet knackered oil cooler and engine coolant header tank knackered
the guy has put a new bottom arm on it and has a new bumper for me

I am using the engine gear box and hopefully shafts, hubs and Brembos on the front of mine.

It'll be an intersteing transplant.

All the extra bits will be for sale!!!!!
