just wondering if anyone knows the weight of the 5 cyl engine?
Going to weigh mine in as its been sat on the drive since.was going to keep the head and do work to it but for the price of headwork,im not going to bother.The price of an engine per tonne is £140 at the mo.
Just wondering what ill get?

You weighing in the flywheel aswell? ePer has the wights but i cant get on.

Did you strip it and find out the problem? You might be able to sell the head on ebay.

yer the flywheel still attached to it,i havnt been bothered to find out whats gone wrong inside tbh..I been thinking about floggin the head on ebay as that never let me down and i know its a good head and poss keep the flywheel as its in good 'nick.But is it worth floggin the head on ebay,what will i get etc?
Just need it gone as it looks a mess up the drive.

if you can find a buyer you will probably be able to get £50 on ebay if your lucky.

i think they weigh about 200kg, but it depends what is still attached to it TBH

200kg ..Nought much really is it,probably get 40/50 quid for the lot,flywheel aswel..Been thinking of selling the head seperatly but theres quite a few on ebay that arnt selling.

theres a lack of buyers, the cars are 10 years old and worth peanuts, its not worth the effort to fix them anymore.

cheers for that pal.Gonna weigh the whole lot in 2morrow.What i get is better than nothin for a knackered engine.Been sat on the drive since its been out the car,bit of extra money in my back pocket suppose I got a flywheel and starter motor of the polo to throw on aswell.
No point in keeping the bravo flywheel (even tho its in good nick) as it wont be stayin n/a 20v for ever.Itll be getting turbo'd at some point

Right well i weighed it in,took 3 of us to lift it in car lol
I only got blady £20! Better than nought suppose but was expecting around £40.I think i got robbed as he never told me how much it weighed.He just worked it out and gacve me the cash
Not to worry,its gone now,Driveway all cleaned up

thankfully, the guy i get to take my junk metal just gives me a tenner usually for whatever.

i gave him the rest of the coupe an he gave me a tenner which i wasnt expecting so was nice.

i have a 20vt engine and loads of rubbish in the garden i need rid of.
