Do 6x9" speaker adapters with 6x9" speakers fit in the doors of a 5x7" hole?

Before i go out and buy adapters which allow me to fit 6x9" speakers into the 5x7" holes in the doors of my Bravo 51plate, has anyone manages to do this successfully WITHOUT making the original hole bigger in any way?

Plus im worried about the depth of the hole to the speakers.... HMMM

Anyone done this themselves?

Cheers people (y)

i managed to do it, w/o adapter.. well i made 1 myself...
as u cant lift speaker of no more than ~1/2inch w/o cutting doors plastic for extra room..
i made my "adapter" out of 1inch insulation material... (u know that white looks like made out of little "bubbles") and had to cut it thinner.. alot .. and when crewed in i had to make it tight so i could place everything else back...
ofc it depends on the speaker too... i am sure u cant fit any ... just have to check some with smaller "magnet".

srry for my poor english...
could give pictures if u really want :)

Thanks for that :). If you dont have to take the door panels off and you already have pictures of it, then yea please do post some pictures :D. Its just that 5x7" 's are poo compared to 6x9" 's.

well.. i dont have/cant find picks with door panels off...
but made 1 from as it is...

u can see that theres allmost hit with speaker/maybe there is, but i never had problem with sound... they played really well just as they are...

so i cuttet out from "that" foam a near size, and cutted just all i really had to... then just some... ductape around so it would not fall into peaces.. and now it gave really nice/clean for my ear - sound. and it uses door as a speaker box i think :D....
anyway.. if ur going to try, just take panel off be4 u go to shop... then u can just try to fit and check with eye if it could fit... and make sure.. theres alot of stuff inside.... so lower (i think that way it was closest to te speaker) window of that side be4 u try...

ohh.. and i think i can say, that i lifted speaker from door... less than a 1/2 inch... maybe little more than 1/3inch

good luck with my grammar..

still i am kinda sure.. u cant fit any of "that" size speakers... as some are deeper than others and so on...

I think im going to give your way of doing it Stroke. I think im going to just buy the 6x9" speakers anyway and try and got them in using your idea. As for the 13 cm speaker adapter, ive already got those adapters from my old bravo, but like the 5x7", there small, give limited sound and i want BIG speakers in my doors :D.

Thanks very much for your help (y).

but take AT LEAST 1/2 of the day of time.. as it isnt as easy as it seems.. wasnt for me at least...
isnt nice... at least how i did it but at least gives nice kinda airtight (probably not really, but i dont care) adapter...
be careful, that foam brakes very easyly when u getting it cutted out... as its like 1/2 inch * 2/3 inch or so... i used small saw to cut it (was ment for metal i think)
