well guys, i need some real help here and so does the electrician cos he doesnt know whats going on with the car either!

THE PROBLEM:
the indicators stopped working a while ago and before i could get these fixed the main problem started -
when i was driving down the road and the engine cut off, ignition lights were on and injector light stayed on but wouldnt start and i had to call the AA, he found that it was the fuel injection fuse which had blown, the big 30amp fuse under the bonnet.
After replacing the fuse and trying to drive it, it blew again after 1 mile (driving it away from the garage)

so i replaced the fuse and then took it back to the garage, the electrician has been testing it for the past few days, he checked every wire through the car but no problem has been sourced yet. he replced the indicator relay in the steering wheel column and He narrowed it down to beneath the bonnet but said it should be fine as he drove it and everything was fine.

so i had a big smile on my face thinking it was probably just the indicator relay that may have been causing the problem, after i took it out from the garage it seemed to be fine. but then it started jerking like there was no fuel in it. the type of jerk where its about to stall but then comes back to life like nothing happend!

it does this every 10 to 15 mins approx, a few jerks in whatever gear its in and when i push the clutch in it stops. so i release the clutch again and carry on driving.
its becoming a real pain when pulling out into roundabouts, it jerked yesterday in the middle of the roundabout while a big morrisons truck was heading right for me! luckily i got it going again and planted it in first gear to move out the way, very close!

so any help would be greatly appreciated as i dont know what to do next and neither does the electrician.
its parked at the mo cos im too scared to drive it incase it blows up on me.

thanks guys.

If your indicators now work then yes i was the Relay that had blown.
The jerking sounds like fuel starvation....if your blowing fuses somethings either got a dead short or its drawing to much juice...a sign it's knackered. Hard to advise without a wiring diagram. (fuel pump?)
It may be worth taking it to a independant Injection specialist so they can diagnose the fault but worth noting that i once had a rogue misfire and the main dealer was cheaper and found the fault at once with their diagnostics check.

I agree with the above. I'd look at the pump and listen out for it. often if they have a physical blockage they will make more noise when driving.
If the electrician can't find faults with the circuitry then it might just be a worn or blocked pump.

The symptoms do sound like fuel starvation and if it is blowing the fuse then this is where i'd be looking.
