Hi guys I am about to start a repair on my JTD 105. There is a loud cracking noise from the rear suspension nearside which I can't quite pinpoint even with the car on a ramp.If anyone has encountered this problem I would be glad of some advice. Has anyone tackled the job of replacing axle bushes on this model. If so I would like to know what I am letting myself in for assuming this is the problem.Thanks again

it is most likely due to play in a rubber bush

either rubber bush between subframe and body, or rear arm pivot bush. Does the wheel sit straight || or at an angle // ??

Thanks for the info lads . The tyre on the side where the cracking comes from is wearing on the inside if I remember right. This I assume points to a problem somewhere. Thanks again

Most likely the big bush at the pivot of the trailing arm. They're about £30 from shop4parts, motorfactors should also be able to get hold of them. Knocking the cups out and back in can be difficult but not impossible. A garage can do it if you need.
