Hello there

I recently picked up my 59 Grande Punto on 6th November at a cost of 7k. hooray scrappage!

I just had a couple questions about the blue&me system.

I have my phone pairing fine and making calls. cant use the message reader but i found that its not compatible with my blackberry.

My main issue is with the music.

I have two usb ports, both in the glove box, one on the left the other on the right. should i be using one port over another or does it not matter?

The things that really grind my gears so to speak, is how the system a) never remembers my last played track and always starts from the beginning of a certain album, even though this isn't the first in the folder list.

and b) it has to "build media library, please wait" everytime i switch the engine on. I could be in the petrol station for 2mins and it does both of these things.

i have a 16gb bytestor stick, formatted to fat32. my folder structure artist>album>song,

i dont want to just leave it in the car (this doesn't solve any problem) as i'd like to use it for the eco:drive info which is a great feature.

would it make a difference as i have a mix of formats on there mp3 and aac? blue&me doesn't seem to have a problem once it actually gets going except with a couple albums (in either mp3 or aac) which it refuses to play.

apologies for a long first post but i would really love this system to work.

Hi funtasticrich

I too have a 59 Grande Punto which i got with the scrappage scheme ;-)

I've been using the B&M music feature for a few months and have found it's just a case of trial and error to get certain features of it working.

First off - 2 USB Ports Either i've not been looking properly or i've only got one (On the left-hand side in the glove box) I would suggest if you have two USB ports both with a USB stick in at the same time, try just using one and see if that resolves any of your problems first.

Your problem about it always starting from the first track in your folder sounds similar to a problem i have been having recently. I don't know why it does this and i have put a post up on the board to try and find an answer.

As for your second point about the message you get about 'Building Media Library' I've never seen this message on my display but i have read other posts about this problem and a lot of people seem to say that B&M doesn't cope too well with USB sticks bigger than 2 or 4 GB so try putting your music onto smaller sticks and ensure it is saved as a .MP3 file.

I hope that helps you - let me know how you go.

Tim.

There are two ports, one on the B&M Convergence unit on the right side of the glovebox (under a black plastic cover on most cars) and the one on the left. I would always use the one on the left. 16GB does sound a little big for it, I would start by trying a smaller stick. If not, ask the dealer, they should be able to help you more :)

i'm going to try a 2gb stick tonight as its finally decided to delete everything on my 16gb pen. having a limit on pen size is a bit of a joke really dont you think? what about using an ipod, they dont come in small sizes, and i'm not paying 80quid for the privilege of getting my ipod to work. this blue&me is turning out to be more hassle than its worth
