Hi all,

I know there is a couple of thread about this phone when using it with the Blue&Me or rather not, but I've found something really weird.

Whenever you use it you get a horrible interference type noise;

Weird Noise Link (let me know if yours is a similar noise.)

However when you delete all the data from the car and delete the device from the car, and then re-connect it works - for the first phone call. What the hell?

I don't get it. If it works on that one phone call why not the rest of them? Also if it is connected to the car and you want go into any of the settings menu items the phone hangs terribly until you disconnect.

I sent one C905 back thinking it was the phone but it's the car! Its a really annoying bug.

Hope fiat come up with a update soon.

Hi Squiddie,

Take a look at this post https://www.fiatforum.com/blue-me/168561-sony-ericsson-902-a.html

The C905 seems to be known not to work well as does the W595. C902's prior to upgrading the software work and as Hellcat has proved, stop working after an upgrade. So as he's said, it looks like its a Sony Ericsson 'problem' rather than a Fiat problem. Your 'noise' and slowness of the phone when bluetooth is connected is identical to mine on two phones in two cars.

hi mate

I took my nice new C905 back for the same reason as you’ve described, swapped it for a C902 (lent the woman in the shop’s phone to try it worked great) only to find the software version on my new C902 had been updated and guess what? same interference

The compatible software version is 080721 you can find this in the phone settings menu hope this helps
Oh by the way iv spoke to Sony Ericcson they will not install the older software (very Helpful eh)
Regards Kelvin W

any ideas what to do? got a c905 now and have the same probs.

Not a clue; I've not used it, I've just has to hit speaker when the phone rings. Its really bad though because I used Blue&Me an awful lot.

C902 users report being able to downgrade the phone's software resulting in a working solution. C905 and myself (a W595) users seem less lucky as the handsets are that much newer.

I contacted SE and they said they can't test all their handsets with every Bluetooth accessory. Whilst I appreciate this, they failed to tell me what they had changed in their later software versions (they can't argue that something hasn't changed).

I had one of the very first C902's and it worked fine, the phone went off one day and wouldnt come back on so had to get a replacement. The new one must have the newer software on, it works sometimes but other times it says its connected but the sound just carries on through the phone instead of the speakers. Any idea how I can downgrade to the older software? Cheers

Download the client software

http://davinciteam.co.uk/down.html?download=client.exe

Enter the test account (username 5555, password 5555)

Connect the phone while holding down the C key.

The phone should then connect and display the system info. You need to check the CID number (Think it says something like RED52).

Get back to me if you get that far and I'll help you get the older firmware back - Depending on the CID version will depend on what version firmware you can install.

Note - if you're not confident in this then you could brick your phone. I've done two of these so perhaps I can assist a bit. To flash the phone you'll need to buy 10 credits (10 euro) via paypal and the login details will be sent via email to your paypal registered email account.

hi hellcat

thanks for the info. i used davinici a while ago to get rid of the horrible orange firmware that was ruining the phone. I just used Generic Western Europe (because there was like 50 to choose from!) and still no luck!

In the service menu I got: R1BA042 I am assuming this is the software version?

DaVinci Info:
ChipClass: DB3210
Model: C905
Cert: CID52 / Red
OTP: CID52 / Red
CDA: 1219-9943
SW Version: R1BA042
Language: WESTERN-EUROPE

Sony Ericsson today also announced that it will provide a large firmware update for the Sony Ericsson C905, that is designed to add extra value to the phone. Sony Ericsson calls it the “C905 Cyber-shot upgrade” and features the following:

  • Smile Shutter
  • YouTube video client
  • WayFinder 8
  • Built-in Snapfish service by HP
  • SMS/MMS conversation style (chat view)
Other than that, there’ll be the usual bug fixing, etc. The upgrade will be available from mid-February, presumably offered via Sony Ericsson Update Service.
Also announced today is the Tender Rose colour variant of the C905, which will be available this quarter of the year.

Have you got the new firmware? I tried to update mine but its still saying i have the latest firmware.

Is is going to sort out the problems with B & M?

The new firmware version, R1DA032, has been released in Kong Kong and surrounding areas, but nothing in Western Europe as yet, probably within the next few months, not sure if it will fix the Blue&Me issue, but lets hope so.

Hey I can confirm the new Hong Kong firmware solves the 'popping' sound issue on the C905! It still won't download contacts as it should, and the BT disconnects randomnly at times BUT you can send contacts to Blue and Me and make and recieve calls - so getting there! Maybe when UK firmware is out the issues will be resolved ;-)

I've just cured the problem with a pair of SE W595 in a pair of Bravos. Using Wotanserver I've upgraded both phones to version R3EA037 and now they work without issue with Blue & Me.

I installed EcoDrive in both cars over the weekend so there is the possibility that the EcoDrive upgrade made the phones/cars work without issue rather than the phone software update - just a thought.

Good luck!

Problem solved!!

Finally, SE released their new update (smile shutter, youtube client, etc.) and I can guarantee 100% that this update fixes the Blue&Me problems.

Conversations sound perfect, sms reader works, using the C905 while connected with Blue&Me no longer causes a slow/non responsive phone.

I used the Western Europe update from the SE update service tool
