Hi - I have a 2003 b, so the facelift version.

I have just discovered 2 'tears' in the footwell (drivers side). Probably caused by wear and tear in the plastic / rubber. I have no additional mats fitted to the car. The 'mat' seems to be one whole unit - quite spongy and seems to be stuck down.....

Having looked at epr on the Doc's site it looks as though I need a complete 'tray' - part no 170470080. Rang local Fiat and cost is at least 500 quid even if you could get one. I would then need to completetly strip out seats etc to fit new one (or another if could get one from a b being stripped).

Has anyone else had this problem and how did you resolve? I have looked to get some mats on ebay but no joy. I have ordered some from Fiat before but they only fitted the original shape b. Have phoned DTR but no one picks up!!!!

Can anyone recommend a shop (in Germany) where I can get mats for a facelift b?

Any other bright ideas? Thanks. :worship:

DTR does sell them for roughly £80 but the quality isn't great (foam backing on my set is starting to deteriorate). You can find them on ebay if you expand search to include countries that ship to the U.K. DTR are good about responding to emails.

Oh and by the way the "floor" my 03' Barchetta is starting to rip in a couple places of well. I've been told it can be replaced by any full service trimmer. I was going to explore doing this with carpet when I re-do the interior.

I removed the mat when I first bought the Barchetta as it was wet, it took about 2 hrs to remove. There is a bit of work but it's only nut's n screws & electrical connectors it seems a bit of a chore but it's not that bad. Remember to disconnect the battery first before disconnecting & removing the seats.

Thanks everyone.

Alan - assume you refitted mat after you dried it out? It came out OK - not stuck down?

Does anyone have the name of the german Barchetta parts store as I recall they did mats specifically for facelift b's - I know it is on a thread somewhere but cannot find it - thanks. (y)

No it wasn't stuck down, but just be carefull when lifting over the gear stick.

You have to remove all the door seals, inside panels, centre console, seats but it is as said relatively simple. Once removed there was a little surface rust on the floor at the end of the footwell so had that repaired and then replaced the mat when all was bone dry.

What's it look like under there? Did you consider leaving the tray out for a more "racing" look? Is the tray actually that heavy?

Mine's got a tear too and is a bit damp so I'm looking at my options.

Matt.

There are too many wires about which look untidy, they are also as previously said galvanised but if water is left to sit it will eventually start to rust so needs looked at. I'm glad I had the opportunity as would have never known otherwise.
