I had my cambelt and variator changed about a month ago and afterwards it had a leak from the rocker cover gasket. They did replace the gasket. I returned it to said garage and they sorted it. But now it's weeping slightly in the same place.

It's the front left corner as you look at the engine next to the timing belt cover.

Anyone experienced weeping in that location? Is it a common problem on the B?

Any advice appreciated.

Hi,
The covers have been known to leak and if the cover bolts are over tightened this can crack the cover usually by a corner bolt hole. This allows the gasket to leak. It is easy to overtight the bolts as the recommended torque (in the manualj is only 7.8NM whicH is about finger tight then a firm snitch up (none technical term)
Gaskets can leak even with a good cover and from advice on this site I have found that using a new gasket and a gasket sealer such as Hylomer Blue universal on top of the gasket provides a leak free seal.
If your cover is good and a gasket sealer hasn’t been used I would replace the gasket and use the sealer. When tightening the bolts start from the centre outwards and first tghten finger tight before going around again and tightening preferably with a torque wrench for consistency to 7NM.
My cover was cracked at the corner bolt and leaked.
Also my opinion only but if the oil level is over the full mark and you drive enthusiastically then the pressure may be higher at the cam cover and breach the gasket.
Hopefully you don’t have a crack in the cover and you just need to re-do the gasket.
Good luck
