One for the saddos amongst us. DVLA is releasing the F plate suffix in October. So anyone wanting an "F14 Txx" plate keep an eye out......

We had this conversation years back and it was proven to be far cheaper to change your name by deed-pole

Hmmm, I have seen some excellent reg's around my area in the past couple of years;

BEG 41 T - BEG 4 1T on a Testarossa
HOT 53 X - HOT SEX Countach
LOU 15 E - LOUISE - Conv Escort (I kid you not!!)
C 1 RBY - CiRBY on a TVR Cerbera

DAL 70 N - DALTON, my surname recently sold for 30k (not to me!!).......

well F1 ATB is £1799, was going to get it, then came to my senses as i only paid £1666 for my car on ebay a few weeks ago.

I saw that, and chose to ignore it too. (y)

Although given the state of mine at the moment, I fear my number plate may be worth more than the car *

*A plate is actually worth nothing unless someone wants to buy it!

I thought about a cherished plate for a while before realising I must have more money than sense and promptly made a donation to a charity instead. Which seemed less of a waste.

Which is not to say I wouldn't like one. Just that i can't justify it at all.

Bit too hard to justify when it actually comes to paying for one.....wonder how many they've sold given the current climate

I thought about a cherished plate but already owned two so I spent the money on recreational drugs loose women, extended sun drenched holidays laced with wild abandon & untold booze.

I shudder to think how I could've wasted it all. If the recession bites further. I might not buy another and do it all again to blot out the reality

:worship:

You have just become my role model!!

Bought one for the bravo last month with some spare cash, £300 all in give or take.... And its going to be relevent to any car i have, so i see it as a great investment considering i could effectively use it until i do (and beyond!)

Actually I have bought two c/plates 1 was a gift for my Current Bun, both at ultra keen prices eons ago direct from the DVLA (THE cheapest source) Strictly speaking it is a sheer waste but so are fancydan wheels / plastic roll overs and any number of unneccesary car toys folks buy when car worshipping. BUT it's amazing how a PNP invokes such degrees of snobbery in some, illusions of wealth to others, sometimes a bit of sheer jealousy. All I know is I always recognise or know my plate when asked I can't recall the wifes Micra no.
My chum has BRC 1 in Canada on a newish MB S class I drive that with a certain uptilt to my nose, shoot glares at other lower Ranks which I'd never do in the wifes Micra.

I do have extended sun drenched holidays with modest degrees of booze. The drugs, loose women & wild abandon seem to bypass me, not for want of wishing. I lied a bit but I can dream.
