Has any one heard on the BNA Performance chips from a Belgian company on ebay for 200 Euros giving a significant power boost -- feedback looks good but could be Bs.

Nope, but for €200 I hope is more than the famous 'fuel magnets' or the resistor that fools the ecu into overfuelling.

Don't know what it can do on its own..there's another thread, not too long ago which had a dynagraph showing a 6hp increase over stock..that was after remapping, chipping and a new air filter (I think)..

Not a lot you can do with a non-turbo motor in the tuning stakes unless you spend big bucks on engine work. Even then you lose the flexibility of the engine and usually get a much narrower power band.

I would not buy any 'bolt on' power widgets, if you are going to spend your money spend it wisely and go to a proper performance house and have it chipped and mapped on a rolling road...........

GSR in the UK specialise in chipping/re-mapping FIAT's, I have not had mine done but chatted to guy's at the ACE Cafe meetings who have raved about the results.

eh wat u mean?

u not believe me?

No, my point exactly - I do believe you!! Get it done properly (by someone like GSR) and you can really add gains to your car, bolting on expensive magnets or resistors to fuel/injector systems are the placebo power increases!!

I will be going with a GSR kit and re-mapping once I have a couple of quid to spare!

dont isult me by thinking a have bolted one of they resistors onto my car!!

im a moderator on puntomk2.com think i know how to get good gains out my punto;)

plus just to add the hitachi ECU cannot be remapped properly so dont waste your money
my car has a BMC CDA with a catback exhaust system running iriduim plugs and v-power and made 156.3bhp and 126ft of torque on the rollers at dastek

and that was the car running a bit lean!

Eh!

He's not insulting you at all, try reading the post again in line with the rest of the thread....

When he says get it done properly he was not referring to your car....

ah right sorry never had a read properly

Any chance that you will swap your engine to save me the effort?? ;)

lol nah i like my engine thank u very much

its done 82k and never missed a beat!

i proved u dont need a GSR induction kit to get good gains, or a super sprint exhaust as my exhaust is just a custom powerflow!

im putting a gsr on thou and goign back on to see if i make gains on wat i have already or if the BMC is just as good

Thanks Al - I think he really thought I was having a pop!!

Goldywaggon, take a look at this, it could save you a couple of quid...........

There is different Hitachi ECUs. Most of the ones in the Barchettas can be done!

I think you are getting ahead of yourself you have not even proved this to be true with your engine. When you have a GSR kit on and you show less power this will not have proved anything either but it will give a good indication that your set up is better on your specific car.

Regarding supersprint you have a euro 2 so the gains from the manifold are unlikley to be as good becasue you don't loose any pre cats. I noticed a big difference in torque when I switched manifolds.

You seem to think you are going against the norm and I think that it in part down to you observing what people are doing at the moment. However the norm was to fit a BMC with a piece of silicone to the throttle body before GSR did a kit for our car. Andy from the other forum only got 150bhp on the rr he went to with exactly this set up and an exhast designed for an abarth cup rally car (probably better than one knocked out by powerflow), so your gains are exceptional and I wouldn't consider them to be the norm.

i know this im lookign into getting a GSR induction kit anyways as im runnign the stock tubing on a bmc cda.

as for the exhaust, its a pain in the arse as who ever made it was drunk as it knocks and bangs off the bottom of the car every corner u go round but they have used a good diameter of pipe and uses a free flowing centre box which i think aids performance. at the end of the day an exhaust is just a tube from one end to the other u cant really go wrong.
