Technical Shock Absorbers

I like my Bilsteins, and found with the Eibach combination the ride was actually a bit better!

I have 17"s, Koni adjustable shocks and springs with upgraded ARB's and not had any problems with all the extra vibration from the hard ride. (y)

FYI my B is only my weekend toy so a few people might find the ride I have a little full on for them each day.

Doc, own up - how many miles have you done since fitting the ARB kit? 10? 15? :D

I still have the stock setup but am looking to change that this year, all depends on jobs/funds etc............

I've covered a couple of thousand since I upgraded, a lot on motorways but some around town too.

The hardest thing is knowing what could have been. Unless you get to drive two Barchettas with two different suspensions you can only guess. It also comes down to personal taste.

On another note I'm hoping to take mine on track to find out where the limits are . One of the things I've heard is, that as well as improving handling the behaviour at the limit can also change. So instead of gradually giving up grip it can lose it totally in a split second, even though it's hung on better than OEM until that point.

I haven't noticed that with mine, but on the road I don't drive at the limit so it's going to have to wait for a track day to test it.

Many moons ago (before kids), I raced Formula Fords for a couple of years, totally different to the b but they had very different suspension setup - very stiff and 'on or off', if you overcooked it you were in the gravel....!

In my opinion lowering the b falls into one of two categories, aesthetics or handling and neither of them go together.......

I will go with the stiffer setup for the track and live with the back jarring (once I have the money....)

As for having fun at the limit they change from car to car, I have had as much fun in a Mini 1275GT as I have had in a 911 - depends if you are happy to live with a stiff and low suspension setup on the way to work and back!

Well people, my bilstein B6 are on and performing SUPERB!!
I was actually surprised that the ride comfort has improved but at the same time the body control is much better as well!! Bumps feel softer and rebound noise is much less and much softer!!

Hurray Bilstein B6!!! Highly recommended!!(y)
Pics will be posted tonight.

...and here are the pics (y)

Congratulations! Are you going for the Eibachs too?

I would really love to but unfortunately I wont :(

I think the car is already too low for the roads I use every day but most important is that any lower that this and I will crash in my drive way. The ramp is quite harsh and the middle of the car approaches the ground at approx 1-2cm. I m very sure that lowering the car will make a great drive but there is something inside me that says "don't" :)
Maybe I ll do it if I ever get another car for everyday use. Till then, I m happy with my B6 :D
.... and jealous of your eibachs Mad Matt :D

Hehe -nice job Stavros!! (although unless you have a garage to put us all to shame you did not do it yourself!!)..........

(y)

Sometimes its nice to sit back, relax and have things done for you :D
Fitting was free so why bother (y)

Thanks for the complements but there is just so many more things to do and so few cash to spend!:bang:

I can imagine not being able to get the car out of the drive could be a problem :D

Still, enjoy the Bilsteins!

interesting... something for the todo list :)

question: is that dust, or did you paint your wheelarches grey?

Dust !!! Thats not good enough sjladopoulos;):p

well yeah, its dust! why on earth would I paint the arches grey anyway?
That amount of dust is a matter of 2-3 days driving here in Greece this time of year! I cant wash the car that often.
