Whilst at the south B meet this week apart from being dazzled by Doc's engine bay :spin: I thought that the original front is much better than the new shape. (Mine is the 03 plate)

What's everyone elses opinion?

Has anyone fitted an old shape front to a new shape B - is it possible? Is this a job for DTR???

I will be keeping my back end though and especially the 3rd brake light ;) as I fall into the category that love it......

You can put an old front on a new B as its easy to get the bumper and lights without 2 much of a problem second hand.

Putting a new front on an old B is a lot more ££ as you need a few more parts then just the bumper and lights. Under the new shape bumper is a extra mounting bracket that will cost you a good few ££ on top of the new bumper, plus its almost impossible to get a second hand new shape front bumper and light.

If you wanted the old front on a new shape B you could do it and have a few extra ££ in your back pocket after selling your bumper and lights.

We all loved the new shape back bumper thats for sure (y)

Ps Not a fan of the 3rd brake light..... sorry.

MK1 front nose and MK2 rear and boot lid would be the best combo - superspotter almost has the perfect combo - just needs to spray it RED!! :p :p :p

Seeing your car on Sunday I think I would seriously look into getting the MK1 nose on your B - oh, and an induction kit

Thanks for replies so far.

Looks as though might be able to get away with this for minimum spend (y)

Like the HID kit too though.........

Might even go for Supperspotters side decals (?).....

I quite like the idea of the HID lights, it's not great driving in the dark as it is, but it was even worse driving in the UK at night!

In terms of the new model, I quite like the look, but not the third brake light. I hadn't noticed the rear bumper was different too.

I was thinking of buying a RHD conversion that I have stumbled across and trying to fit a new front end and boot lid as I love the cheekiness of the third brake light and the new front end! I just not sure I can justify the ultimate cost.....thoughts?

I would only go for a RHD conversion if it was one of the 6 that DTR did - as for the bootlid and mk1 front it depends how exclusive you want to be.....

There was a yellow LE at Stanford Hall the other week. The old front complete with spoiler looks good in yellow as does the old type back end. The old front without the spoiler looks unfinished but then imo the spoiler doesn't really stand out in any colour other than yellow.

What does look better are the round badges on the facelift but Fiat were real cheapskates by not fitting a round badge on the steering wheel. The old type one looks really tacky.

One problem I've found with the facelift back end is that the DTR exhaust tailpipe is not really long enough. I've tried to mod the exhaust extension that came with the car without much success.

Anyway, whether old or new shape - it's definitely GOT TO BE YELLOW. It's not silver it's grey:D
