Had a blast to Martlesham and back (from Bracknell) in a 996 about 6 months ago - scared myself S******s...............if I had accelerated from say 100mph to say 130-ish mph on the A12 I bet the acceleration would have been frightening..............:D

Better make sure that my wife doesn't see any of these pics, especially of the blue fellows. Otherwise, the trip to France is off.

Hey these are both mine! and at present both non runners!!!!:bang:

Yellow one needs a bit of filler. WOW a dent in every panel !! that takes some doing. Should not have a problem getting the silver one back on the road.

whats up, the silver one has a blown engine and the yellow one has the replacment engine ?

Little Red B, the wife doesn't drive the silver one, says the bonnets too long!
Doc, the silver one I've had since Nov '99, and has had many a thing go wrong, a couple being big ones.
Three years ago, I stumbled across the yellow one on ebay, the then owner was selling the Leather out of it, all I wanted was the steel water pipes to the oil cooler housing, which i bought. Shortly after mine decide to detonate the fuel air mixture in the plastic inlet manifold, Oh Lordy, did that make a mess, never mind! I decided even though the Yellow one is the earlier type with most of the ignition and fuel system different, to buy the whole car (for what most people pay for an engine on eBay) to have as a parts bin. Shortly after that I also bought a correct spec engine and gearbox with low mileage off eBay, useing the manifold off that I got her back on the road, She was now running sweeter than ever, for about 12 months! then on my way home from work at Leeds Bradford Airport after a night shift, road empty nice dry warm night, I decided to loosen the reigns!! not breaking any laws or speed limits of cousre! All was well until I lifted off the throttle,
then all hell broke loose! at first I thought the exhaust had parted company with us, but as I pulled up at the top of the slip road, she just cut out. She started first time but wouldn't run, and sounded like some one was banging hard on an old tin drum!! she still pulled away and so we drove the 2 miles home with a sunken heart. Shes now parked up waiting for a lot of TLC, and more money, but I'm in it for the long run, and she still looks fantastic parked up!
