Dialects all over Britain can be testing to say the least. (Some) Doric has its roots in the Bronze Age when the Greeks made an apprehended here. Quite some time ago, obviously it has changed over the centuries.

I will point out the obvious,,,,,no it’s all Greek to me jokes.. :D

Eldest Grandson going back to school on Monday  he wasn't in the years that were meant to go back he was 1 below but as so many haven't gone back he was offered a place. I've got mixed feeling about it but he is like Johnny five and craves input, daughter has checked it out and all the safety measures seem to be in place so decided to let him go.

I think it should be Ok for the kids from what we've been told - only natural to worry though. Maybe wise for us oldies to keep a distance from them though? My 7 year old granddaughter just can't wait to get back but looks like it'll be a while yet for her.

Finally got around to doing my antibody test this week, and seems my suspicion were right.
but strange thing is i had trouble breathing before the 19th February bit before all this virus kicked off in the uk, got sent for ecg bloods and xray. all came back ok from what the GP could tell, on the 9th march he referred me to a specialist (not had appointment yet). I told him i had lost my sense of smell but at the time it was not one of the symptoms.
I had only been ill for 1 day badly in February, when i was going hot n cold at night but still went to work in the daytime.

results.

Son in law recons he has had all symptoms in January, I believe him. Daughter who is a Charge nurse has been informed up here, the virus has been with us longer than we think, even late last year.

Fiat trip out shopping today in 4 months, and I don’t mean supermarket,

Wife bought a new dress, got some pigs ears for the dog visited some of our favorite local businesses, and got a five guys for the way home, all very nice and pleasant, not many people about, and no real queues, very few people wearing masks and those that were seemed to have them pulled down under their noses.

What was weird is the one way systems on the street foot paths painted on with stencils, every shop had 2 meter stickers spreading out customers, outside where more stickers to space out queues. It will be interesting to see how things develop if some measures to separate people become more long term?

what do you think of my test results? should i now be offering myself up to be a lab rat to test if i can get it again

There is some speculation that the virus was in China around July/August last year, so plenty of time for it to start to spread. It would have been slow at first.

Lab rat has to be your decision, and you must not be swayed by anyone else. Although, being that occasionally you seem to be the target of some disagreement on here, there may be some calls for you to volunteer.

Earlier today, while outside, I heard voices. It appeared that a neighbour was saying goodbye to a visitor. So visitor is by the door of her car, neighbour and her two children are nearly 2m away, hence the raised voices.

Final goodbye. I was stunned.
Both women put their hands to their moouths and kissed both their hands. Now normally this would be followed by some sort of wave, implying a transmitted kiss. But, no, they then both held out their hands, and touched their hands together. Pure genius.

I see loads of people saying them ears are bad  like this https://www.preventivevet.com/dogs/...also harbor all, chunks and swallow them whole.

The dogs like them and get them very rarely less then once ever couple of years.

I had missed your lab results, Personally I would never be offering myself up for anything. I would not want to risk ending up in ITU even if I had contracted it before.

I'm not sure how they are going to find out if there is immunity or not though, do they just wait until time passes and no one they know who has been tested positive gets it again naturally

Same issue with testing the vaccine, they can't intentionally infect someone...
So they may have something that works, but can't actually test it.

Hi,

still not much different in Germany. There are some local quarantines after the meat production scandal at Tönnies in Rheda. Officials say they're trying to avoid a local lockdown. I personlly am waiting for one.
It is a pity that most people, politicians and salesmen included, are acting for personal preferences instead of realising the immense danger for the (global) human society.
The crisis is only just at the beginning.

Good luck to all

Thanks for the update,
Too many are thinking its all over and letting their guard down.
Not sure if it made your news but there has been a (suspected terrorist) multi stabbing murders over here, and there are now mass gatherings of mourners none socially distanced all hugging each other. Total madness some of us have had to miss funerals of family members but others act so selfishly :(

Yes, i read about the Reading stabbing.
There has been a greater eruption of violence in Stuttgart without any locatable political background.
People are going crazy, i think.

The story is just in chapter one in my opinion.

looks like a lot more will be able to open soon
2m rule will be eased where it can't be maintained but you must be seated to be served in pubs, eateries etc.
B&Bs, cottages, campsites and caravan parks can also reopen, and people in England will be free to stay away from home overnight for the first time since lockdown began. There is no mention of tents so I presume this means self sufficient camping only.
Oh, and you will be able to get a haircut!
