Can I ask for some advice please.

Are all ET40 17" alloy wheels interchangeable between all 500X models?

A tyre dealer has a nearly new set of original 17" alloys and tyres from a Lounge model which the owner has replaced with an expensive aftermarket set.
He has left the wheels and tyres for the dealer to sell. My own 500X is one of the very last "run out" 2018 models which I bought last year as a nil mileage pre registered Cross 2.0litre diesel 4x4 car.

Both sets of alloys are the same size and offset (17", 7J, ET 40). The Lounge alloys with the turbine like spokes are like new and the tyres the original Bridgestones.

The parts department employee at the local Fiat dealership did not know but mentioned that the Cross and Cross Plus models may have had larger front brake callipers and the 17" and 18" alloys specific to the 4x4 cars.

Does anybody know please?

Thank you

I would be surprised if there was any difference in the brake diameter, but if you are seriously interested could you take the car to the tyre place and get them to try one on the front, which will have the bigger brakes?

Thank you for your reply and sensible suggestion.
The one drawback is that the alloys and tyres are 50 miles away and over the English border from my home in North Wales and we all know what is starting next week.........

If you have the 305mm front discs and 278mm rear discs, the lounge wheels should fit fine on a 4x4 Cross model.

Though the 17” Cross wheels came in my case with mud and snow tyres for the 4x4 version , are these the same with the Lounge 17” tyres?

Thank you for your reply and advice.
The tyre size for both 17" Lounge and Multicross wheels is the same - 215/55/17 94V - in normal and not M&S versions but I don't like the appearance of the 17" Cross wheels. The Lounge wheels are much nicer in my opinion

If I do manage to buy the ex Lounge wheels I assume that I will have to inform my Insurance company of the change.
I have been tempted to upgrade to 18" Lounge wheels but I am informed the ride comfort deteriorates and there may be gearing complications with speedometer accuracy as well.

I have a Panda 100HP. The OEM spec 45R15 tyres gave a harsh ride. 50 series tyres gave an improvement and the speedo was slightly affected but it's now almost spot on accurate. :) Anything any bigger would cause speedo error.

These are useful tools -

PS The wheel size is stamped somewhere on the back side (rim or spoke). Check yours and call the wheel seller and ask them to have a look.
