I'm trying to work out if the issue I've got is related to my uconnect account?

Deezer sort of works via the Apps screen of Uconnect Live system in the car, it appears to use a generic account. The deezer screen shows that it is using a restricted account. However, audio keeps pausing to buffer to the point it isn't really usable.

Ironically, Deezer works fine if I run the Deezer mobile app on the phone and just stream via Bluetooth direct, in other words bypassing Uconnect app completely.

That issue alone makes me think the Uconnect Apps are a bit flakey, but that feeling is reinforced because no matter what I do I cannot link the Uconnect Deezer app, or Facebook for that matter, to my Deezer or Facebook accounts.

The accounts option within the mobile phone uconnect app is supposed to allow me to set up my account details. However, for Deezer it complains that it needs a valid redirect URI. For Facebook, it complains about the app ID.

Both of these errors looking like bugs in uconnect to me.

Has anyone been able to configure their actual account details for the Uconnect apps?

Facebook has been removed from uconnect.

Facebook used to work fine even reading out new posts but since the update it has been removed.

I assume your talking of an update to UConnect in the car. For some reason mine doesn't have this, however there was an update a week or so ago that I hit the wrong response on and I have no way of finding it.

Deezer is a complete pain. Whilst mine it registered and works correctly, it hardly ever works without buffering and is so frustrating. Interestingly, if I just use Deezer on the phone and have it stream across then it plays fine without these problems.
I have now assumed that it is because I am on Three that these problems are caused, so am looking to change to EE (better deal anyway) and hope that the faster 4G signal will improve things.

I find the whole Unconnect Live system to be utter crap. Fiat either want to lag behind with their entertainment interface or they've chosen to use the crappest from Chrylser stock.

The Unconnect Live 7" HD is what all models should have. It'll also have Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The 500S will have this as standard and the Tipo on Lounge (presumably)

Deezer works perfectly as the App on my phone streaming but the Deezer App on the Live interface buffers all the time!

Tbh my 500X is beginning to be a massive disappointment. Still, that's a different topic for a different thread :bang:

If there's faults with the actual cars, then it's completely understandable for someone to be disappointed, but I do notice recently that the whole car turns into a disaster if the infotainment doesn't work quite right. I notice that on here, on other forums and in the motoring press. It should work, but it's also a much faster moving sector than the car industry & because it's not continually connected to the internet, it's very easy for glitches to occur and for things to become out of date.

When I used UConnect in an Alfa Romeo I was left feeling that apart from having Bluetooth Audio Streaming, my old Blue&Me system worked better than UConnect, especially with voice recognition, so i'm not excusing Fiat/Chrysler for a second. However, the Live bit of UConnect is a relatively recent addition and if people have to stream music from a phone app rather than the stereo, it's not the end of the World. It's a pain yes, but needs to be put into context of how many other things can go wrong with a car

To put the record straight I'm really impressed with the 500X. I've only had mine a few days but there is a lot to like. It's an immeasurably better car than it's diminutive namesake in my opinion. The 1.4 MultiAir engine is astonishing, economy aside.

I really cant workout why there are so few on the roads.

However it needs to be said that UCONNECT Live is a disaster and someone back in HQ should be deeply embarrassed. I'm guessing the dev team were all fired and that's the reason it doesn't work properly all these months later.
