Hello everyone!

I just found out, that the SGW module presents in my FIAT 500L-year2018. That probably means, i can only read errors/parameters via normal ELM327 interface, but have no right to change anything.

Do anyone have a real experience how to install the SGW bypass module in FIAT 500L?
Generally, where to search for this module? Found no photos in internet for 500L.

How expencive it the quasi-original tool, that should work without SGW-bypass?

Many thanks in advance for your answers/ideas.

Some of this was discussed a while ago..

s130 contributed I believe

Yes I vaguely recall this but to be honest can not recall the details. People need to search back for full details.

What I sort of recall is:

1) If you have the SGW module then in can be removed and replaced with a bypass unit
2) Depending on Fiat model then the SGW is buried deep behind the dashboard
3) If removed and replaced with bypass module then I think I recall that dealer kit will not work correctly till the module is replaced
4) There are some SGW bypass modules that are not correctly wired so buyer beware

Sorry about being rather vague but the information is out there on the web for research.

It looks as though a day-pass can be purchased through Fiat themselves (for 1.5€). Whether it works with MES or not, I have yet to test. The missus has just purchased a 500L 2018 model (reg. oct '17), that we're picking up next weekend. Will try the purchase in the next few weeks, as I suspect it will have the SGW fitted.

Invest in a bypass module. The above day-pass is not a viable option, unless you are a registered workshop/garage, with a valid VAT number.

So, the issue with the SGW was solved. Just to exchange the experience with other members

- The SGW bypass s.c."12+8" cable from Aliexpress works fine with 500L 2018.

- Multiecuscan latest version 4.7 can read all the modules except the body computer. So, the "service reset" is still unavailiable. All other modules one can read/write without problems.

- The SGW module located behind the body computer left from the clutch pedal. It's rather difficult to unplug two cables from it - one has to unplug the fixator and pull the cable simultaniously with one hand. But it is possible with some training:) Maybe it would be more comfortable after removal of the body computer (but it also have 2 plugs at the back site).

Was this on a left had drive or a right hand drive.
I'm currently trying to fine the SGW on my 500x but have had no luck so far.
Any help locating this thing will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
