Hi All

I have a 0.9 Twinair Fiat 500, really love this little car.

A couple of weeks ago a heard a different sound(Blowing noise) from the engine bay when I accelerate and felt there was very little power, I was in a panic as I thought oh no whats happening to my car,

When I got home I started to investigate what could be wrong, after a searching and crawling under the car and back to the engine I found the boost pipe which goes from the inter-cooler to the intake had a long cut under the pipe which was quite a shock to me as the pipe does no rub against anything, I accepted the wear and tear term;)
(photos attached)

I got hold of the agent and obviously a replacement was super expensive, Back to the drawing board, I managed to find a company that could make a similar looking one from Stainless steel at half the price.

Booked the car in last Saturday after a long wait, it was ready to go, looked very neat, I was a bit on the paranoid side as I was not sure what to expect. anyway after leaving I immediately tested the new pipe, I was happy well still am happy as my car is back to normal, love that feeling when the turbo kicks in and the car just shoots forward. ( I forgot to take a picture of the Stainless steel pipe) I will upload it later in the week.

I hope you guys find this useful.

Regards

Justin

Yes that's a top photo, no space to take it from the bottom,

It just split, the pipe is not near the bottom of the car and there's the engine protection guard, maybe age of the pipe ?

Hi All

Apologies I finally got time to upload the new Stainless Steel pipe and Silicon Hoses.

Let me know your thoughts

Cheers

Hi Charlie

I local business in Cape Town makes up these types of kits, it takes abit of time as they make it while you wait, if you know some one who can weld Stainless Steel for you that would work just the tricky part is to find the correct Silicon hoses to match where it connects too.

Yes full power was restored I cant notice a difference.

So fun to drive,

Next on my wishlist will be the performance chip,

Has anyone installed a performance chip into their Fiat 500? if so would you recommend it?

Cheers
