Hi all, I've just bought a fiat 500 by diesel 1.4s, 2010. It had no user manual, so I've downloaded a couple off the net but I can't find any reference to a very small, black, nipple-like button on the lower left of the dash (right hand drive car). It's almost like a joystick, but very small, has a tinier little raised spot next to it on the same button top if you see what I mean. Anyone know what it does? I've looked all over and can't find any reference to it anywhere!

Thanks for your reply, but ... What's that?? I'm old and extremely untech as far as cars are concerned I'm afraid!

Ah I just looked it up, and I don't think it's that because it's in plain sight all the time. It is just below the electric window up-down switch on the passenger side. It looks like a button about 1cm diameter, raised about half cm, completely round. In the centre it has a raised shiny black nub which you can press. Above that nub is a much smaller one which doesn't seem to do anything. The complete button does move slightly to the left, but not sure it's meant to. Pressing the nub doesn't appear to do anything. No lights on dash come on or go off, no parking sensors come to life (sadly), and I can't find any reference to it anywhere! It's a mystery :) see pic below...

OIt's definitely not a fiat item that's for sure
Probably something added and then removed by a previous owner
I'd try looking under the dash for any extra wiring that's out of place and tracing it

Has someone added front foglights? Not sure if the By Diesel edition has them as standard. If it is foglights, they would only come on if the other lights are on, and the little led on the button should then illuminate.
The button is certainly not an original fit, but looks a neat enough job.
