I'm currently in Menorca and every other car is a fiat 500. The tailpipe is far wider than any 500 I've seen in the UK. Any reason why?

The first series of 500 had quite a wide oval tailpipe on some models. Certainly the Sport, possibly the Lounge too. The Pop had a normal small round tailpipe. This is why the bumper cutout is oval.
No idea if/when this changed, but likely that later ones became cheaper.

I think all Pops have the round one as does the colour therapy. Lounge and sport have the oval chrome one. At least up until the facelift anyway.

Diesels have a bigger diameter round pipe on models that don’t have a chrome tip, eg pop, pop star, colour therapy
