Hi everyone I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have fiat 500 1.2 2012 plate . Ever since I bought it I've had nothing but trouble , at first my stop start system was faulty and being controlled by the break , this was corrected , I've had problems with it revving on its own , using a lot of fuel and warning lights. I have squeaks when reversing and starting up . But now I keep getting the dash board say airbag failure!! I have taken it to fiat and they cannot find any faults and say the trouble have starting the car is my battery , they said every time the airbag failure light is on it means they will not working this really worries me so I have left the car on the for court the manager said they won't deem the car faulty until they physically see the light . Anyone had theses problems

I'd say you need a new battery.

Intermittent airbag warning lights are the side airbags, caused by poor connections between the front seats and the car.
Why they can't just plug in and see this I don't know because the system will record the fault and store it till its next plugged in

Maybe they are taking the "La la la fingers in ears, if I don't see it it didn't happen approach" to vehicle maintenance and repair.

Front seat side airbags are the only thing that won't cause a fatal error and put the airbag light on permanently so you hit a bump the connection is made and the light goes out again till the next big enough bump or pot hole

Nope, intermittent airbag warnings can also be a weak battery. Considering the OP has had recent start and stop issues....

Dodgy battery records a 'low voltage' fault which is usually a 'fatal error' leaving the light on.

It certainly won't flash an error on and off while the car is in normal use

I've had the warning intermittently because of a low battery......

It seems the answer to every electrical problem in the 500 section is buy a new battery, while the rest of the forum has answers to all these problems and more with out the need to splash out for an unnecessary new battery every couple of years

Good battery in my car and this never happens, crap battery in and it happens all the time. Coincidence?

thats because the battery is related to most electronic problems = )
