I used a trolley Jack to lift the car then made blocks to fit in the sill recess to support the car

I used the factory jack recently because the car was not on flat ground, so I could not use the big lift. I was positively surprised, very easy to place and very little effort to crank up the car. I used a thin rubber mat between car and jack, so no damage at all to the sills.
And yes, the rear jacking point is justbehind where the plastic protection ends.
