Hey, its not bad in here, well done! Very informative :worship: We have just orderred a TA+ for the better half with almost the entire option list attached.

A question I have found since ordering though is:

If you spec the dualogic buttons on the steering wheel, do you lose other buttons - like the stereo / phone etc? (I was initially told that you got flappy paddles but looking around here says it is just buttons:mad:)

Thanks

Hi

As far as I am aware the Dualogic TwinAir (of any spec) has the paddles as an option, not steering wheel buttons?!??? Therefore you wouldn't loose the stereo or Blue&Me controls.

Also the only car that does have buttons for gear selection (and paddles) is the 500C Abarth.

Hope this helps

Steve

Cheers Steve, that is reassuring actually. I think that I may have confused what I read on the Arbarthisti forum. We were looking at many different vehicles early on hence the possible confusion, but have gone for no tax or congestion charge in the end.

Steve - I had posted a question looking to know if the Dualogic on the standard 500 came with buttons or paddles (that may be where confusion came from) and I subsequently found a 500 model that was selling with the Paddle controls here. In my opinion worth specing.

3 Doors, Semi-Automatic, Hatchback, Petrol, 3,780 miles, Metallic</SPAN> Funk White. Paddle Conrols, Sat. Nav, Upgrade HiFi, Chrome Pack, Red Brake Calipers, 16 inch Alloys, Duel Logic gear box,

The ordinary 500 Dualogic does not and cannot come with "paddle controls" - even if someone on autotrader says they have it!

Michael - don't believe everything you read on the internet....

If I was the OP I would be pretty confused by now.
But I take your poiint. There is a lot of stuff on the internet you cann't believe.
On that ad on autotrader the picture of the 'inside' of the car doesn't show the paddle controls so a case of 'false' advertising - nothing new with car ads.
On the UK configuration it does say dualogic controls on steering wheel at £105 so I'll have to believe you. :)

On a slightly seperate note the term 'dualogic semi automatic transmission transmission' is a bit mis-leading. In the US they have a 'proper' automatic (a 6 speed) and from what I've read (maybe I shouldn't believe it LOL) the Americans are opting for manual in the POP because with their automatic with the torque converter is losing around 3-4mpg.

I not too sure how they can describe the MTA so that it is not confused with a 'normal' triptronic gearbox.

Actually I think I may be wrong. Everyone ignore me. (As usual.)

Hehe! Yup you are correct the OP is none the wiser!! I have tried the stealer and they cannot answer on the potential loss of stereo buttons to allow the dualogic bit either but will get back to me.........

Thanks for your efforts, no further forward but at least you tried lol

I had queried PJ on this a few week back..
https://www.fiatforum.com/500/273288-thats-ordered-now-six-weeks-wait-3.html?p=2792920

And then I double checked his answer on the Abarth section

Part of my nature - trusting guy that I am.:)

At least you have a picture of what it should look like on the above thread.
Hopefully someone will 'get to the bottom' of it once and for all.

I would talk to Fiat or the dealer just to be 100% sure :)

Oh definately, cheers maxi

Latest: dealer assures me its flappy paddleness that I will be getting with no effect on the blu/stereo buttons....if it's different I have the culpability of the dealer from his conversation and email confirmation now (if I need stereo buttons reinstated in favour of dualogic as they are more important to us)

I will post pics upon delivery for all lazy auto bods to make reference to.

Cheeeeers!

Until I see a picture of a 500 steering wheel with flappy paddles behind it I'll still be a 'doubting Thomas'. :) If you can post a picture that would be great.(y)
If you can get them they're great value for the money at €105. (y) It would not be something that could easily retrofitted. Personally using the stick to shft gear on a dualogic feels alien to me.

Brill news Fergy, cheers, I knew deep down that there were just doomsayers about no paddles lol!!!

A pic would be fantastic too if you get chance Fergy

Fergy, that is awesome thanks a lot for the effort. They are better than I hoped for too. I am not even sure that they will be used other than for showing off!! But they are well worth the £105 for the "gadget" factor. Looking forwards to getting it now

Many thanks for posting the pictures Fergy. At least that is finally parked.:)
Given that you have the 'sporty' 1.4 do you use the paddles and is there much difference in the 'changes' if you are in Sport mode ?
