Is there a guide for replacing the AC Cabin (pollen) filter on the FiatForum you could point me to?......there's an American clip on U-tube which makes it look easier than it is but it doesn't match my RHD 500. So it's onto my knees and contortion-time in the footwell methinks

Lol! On our previous 1.2, I changed the pollen filter twice to save on the purchase and labour charge from Fiat. You're right, it is sadly a on your knees and contortion exercise made worse if you have massive hands like I have. First time I changed it, it took me nearly 40 minutes and I scraped my knuckles to pieces. About 30 minutes the second time, a right royal PITA! (y)

Excellent thread - thanks jrkitching.

Sorry to post the same thing twice, but for the sake of completeness - I'd just like to point out that owners can reset the service reminder themselves by using MultiECUScan software, a yellow adapter, and an ELM327 cable (all obtainable from Gendan.co.uk and also suitable for almost every other FIAT/Alfa).

As well as recording when the service is done (in the car's computer), you can also change the service interval distance if you prefer a shorter interval before the next reminder appears. I suggest 9,000 miles/15,000km for all modern cars unless used exclusively on motorways...

And, if the vehicle has a diesel engine (off-topic for this thread I know), it is necessary to connect to the Engine ECU and reset an oil degradation parameter, which has to do with the DPF cleaning process.

It always bears repeating to read the handbook (when you reset the service interval counter) as a reminder of other tasks to conduct during a service. These vary according to the total distance travelled.

ASDA have 5 L packs of 5/40 Fully Synthetic own brand for £14 at the moment.I am sure its good enough for an old engine such as the 1.2
