I'm also considering upgrading original cindys sound system but have yet to find any real detailed FAQ's or guides.

Last thing I want to do is start setting off airbags as I take off the panels!

General consensus is retrofitting interscope is not worth it, as alot of it hinges on some clever DSP. For the price/effort of it most say upgrade the speakers and possibly fit a sub.

Edit: Standard system is pretty darn good though, take it you've twiddle with the EQ and Loudness settings etc?

AFAIK there isn't a guide into retro fitting the interscope but Pearce_jj has written some comphrehensive guides here under the heading of sound insulation which give instructions about removing seats and panels so as not to set off airbags. Also has good pics of interscope components in situ.
