Im off to order my new 500 but just cant decide! Black or Electroclash Grey? Anyone got any pictures of the electroclash? eee!

Go for whichever you like more. You should definitely look at them 'in the metal' before ordering though.

Black will be more of a pain to keep clean than Electroclash, and if you don't clean it properly it will become dull within a year too. So bare that in mind.

Electroclash Grey. There's no point getting black, as IMHO it does not suit the cars character

Personally I would suggest Red, Yellow, or White (funk white above BNW)

I disagree with the above.

Don't think any colour other than black or white suits this car.
Grey is depressing,
Red should be used for sports cars not city cars
Yellow looks better on exotic cars and should be banned on being available on any other car.
Blue = :yuck:
Green is wrong
black and white suit it very well, although white is very common and make it look like a mini fridge. Cute though.

You'll get a very divided opinion on colour choices.
The above is my opinion only!

I'm with SmoothHound, except for the red (when clean and with chrome mirror, there is something about it! :p)
At first it was white all the way, going to Italy very often I get to see the original and it is mostly white, white IS the 500 spirit imo. But it sells way too much in that colour so that became a no-go.
Then my wife got me to think about the black and I found it extremely slick!

As for grey, it is just "ok" in my scale of good taste :)D) , but if you do choose a bright interior + ivory. ;)

Here's one for you:

It's a fun car though, I think it should be painted in all sorts of colours! It's a pity they removed a lot of the best ones.

That grey is just so SMART. It makes the car look a lot more expensive too. I've seen a few recently and they do impress - me;)

And normally I hate bog-standard silver cars.

THAT!
Absolutely, that is something that is not often mentioned yet is so very true. For some reason a dark car + allows will straight away give away that impression of being well specced ! (when in reality it could be the only two extras added!)

Just the same difference between a dark classy suit and a cream suit.....(think Liverpool 1996 FA Cup Final :D)

(Btw, all that being imho, not to stir trouble or opposition :))

I couldn't agree more. Saw a Mod Blue one in the metal the other day and was tempted not to go for scrappage but that decided that doesn't make sense.

Saying that, I'm still dithering about colour but I'll get there! I think both black and Electrodash suit the cheeky 500. Now, I'm going to mention N O Blue and....RUN!!! :p

Well I really like my white one, but I went along to the dealer the other day and there was an electroclash grey outside with chrome mirrors and it looked absolutely brill. The wheel choice will impact on the way it looks so choose carefully. This one had the 16" Diamond 5 spoke alloys (420 in sales brochure) and it worked really nicely.

White is classic IMHO and I like red & grey.
BSM learning cars all seem to be black, silver or white...just to bear in mind in terms of resale in the future.

At the end of the day you got to live with it.

The grey does look good in the 'flesh' - personally I think it's better than the black...but it's your choice! :) Tricky though isn't it? I was dead set on a white car with red roof - and then changed my mind at the VERY last minute when there was a Tech House Grey with a black roof in the showroom :) With the chrome mirrors and cream interior it looked so gorgeous!

I haven't seen the other grey but I can vouch that Tech House Grey is lovely.

I think all the body colours are superb...but its the choice of interior and extras that really make it special..I had to travel a long way to find my Black & Chrome 1.4 sport with black interior and I would still not change it for another colour.
Horses for courses..Whatever colour combination you prefer..is the best one!
Oggie.

Why are people going on about what the best colour is, suggesting other colours or saying why the black and grey aren't good colours. The OP said they wanted some pictures to help them decide between black and grey

I wanted grey and my wife wanted black........

..........we are of course getting black

I do think that a clean black 500 with chrome trim does look the business and sort of retro but then the grey is very smart and easier to clean and keep clean. I have had grey cars before and they certainly hide the dirt far better than black.

I love the grey especially with the extra chrome. I also saw one with chrome wing mirrors and it looked lovely. I think i would look nice with the Italian stripe, and tan leather seats, ivory trim. WHen I spec my next one I'm probably going for that. Though NO blue is also nice with the extra bits on.
