Tuning exhaust system

For anyone that's interested, I fancied a change and had a whole new exhaust system fitted.
It now looks like this, sounds very nice and nothing OTT. :)

not sure why this thread has come back from the dead, but since March i have a full Supersprint system and it is great.

Rob, as one of the oldest serving forum members you should know that old threads never die.

ps. As you have stated previously ( in respect of people asking questions that we know have been asked previously) USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!
which of course will do exactly that.

I had to put this somewhere - the last thread on performance exhausts was closed with it moving into advertising (sorry RUI - I might be touching a 'cord' - I liked the carbon mirrors - still might buy a set yet :)).

I did note that on the graph for the supersprint exhaust setup it was 'only' giving around 108bhp (going on memory - site is down at the moment) - a lot of dosh when a GSR and a re-map will do better. I have seen no graphs for the Janspeed or the milltek but now realise that the sport cat is key with the 'resistance' dropping from 400 ? to 100-200 ? I hadn't realise that a performance exhaust is good for MPG - so maybe the 1.4 can get up there with the 1.2s and TA !

But - the youtube exhaust sound did do it for me :) although it was mentioned that this setup is mega $ and you can get this on the Abarth - so why bother :(?

excuse the pun but that sounds great.

I read somewhere the 500 exhausts are made of chocolate and will deteriorate in 2-3 years, worth going for something like this at the time.

You probably wouldn't have the car in 3 years :). Just think of what you're missing out on ! I'm not too sure if it would be in the category of 'eye candy' or should I say 'ear candy' :D.

This URL was down earlier on today. The increase on the supersprint setup was 106.4bhp from a standard 101.8bhp. I can see why the CAT comes off for track days. It's a lot of money to spend for what would appear to be a small increase. Maybe the 'ear candy' would be a better bet.

If you want to up the BHP dont mess around with all that, I just put super unleaded in my 1.2 and went on a rolling road and this is the result.

I think this is similar to the Monza you can get for the A500. It sounds a bit tinny on the F500 though (pea in a biscuit tin perhaps?)

My mate opted for the Milltek, similar price to the Monza but stainless so won't rust. Sounds sweet too, here's a video of his (watch it all, it's worth it!)

Sounds very masculine in the cave. With a standard 500 it's nice to be a little OTT. In an A500 - you don't have to :).

that milltek sounds nice and throaty on that arbarth, do like their stuff and Phil Millington is a true gent, they did me a one off for my car and i love it, there stuf never sounds chavy but is not so loud you can't use it as a daily

I am developing a loud back box for the 1.2 and 1.4 Fiat 500s
...just a strange hobby of mine.

I have a sample with the manufacturer to make lovely sheeny shiny stainless LOUD ones.
