just bought this

was an absolute bargain though :D

Its' a full supersprint system with tubular manifold and sport cat.
wanted it for over a year but with the exchange rate has mate it a very expensive proposition

all i need now is a set of cams and a remap and i'll have 120 bhp

Should of specced an Abarth and you would have 135bhp without full supersprint system with tubular manifold and sport cat

:p

Why do you need that when you can get 120bhp from a 1.2 with a remap? :ROFLMAO:

It's a long time since I've seen anybody with such an impressive bunch of bananas!
You know what'd look really good next to that - a supercharger kit:D. Go on, dare you!

you jest but I have actually looked into supercharging and found a company that can do it :D

if i still need more oomph i'll fit some nitrous
(y)
For the money you spent on this car you could have made a Subaru handle well, go silly fast and stop bloody well too!

haven't spent much on it though

suspension - free
brakes - £80
filter - free
wheels/tyres - 2 sets less than £500

this exhaust still means the total is less than a grand :D
2k impreza turbo + 7.5k spent on it would be fast though. You could have coilovers, a set of brembo's and a heap of enginework for that money. But I understand why you prefer Fiat's :)

indeed, i have done high power complicated heavy cars (Alfa 2.4 JTD and 147 GTA) and bang for buck the Fiats are more fun, and a lot less trouble (y)

I think it all depends on how common the bits are. Impreza bits are quite common and surprisingly cheap. But then again the bill just for tyres, pads and fuel would be huge for an Impreza.

would you recommend applying heat wrap?

We wrapped it on our Seicento but it was more to protect the rad/fan assembly as it looked like it would be close, though once all built up maybe not as close as we thought it would be.

It's been on over 2 years now and had no problems with it wrapped.

We have left the Cinq un-wrapped at moment knowing from the Sei we had more room than expected. So may see if we get any differances once its running propely & if any benefit running either way is measurable.

As the CAT forms part of the manifold in OEM spec you use the two bungs provided on the manifold for the ECU.

The 500 Abarth Trofeo has the two lambda sensors on the exhaust manifold about 50mm apart, though to keep it legal as all motorsport cars (F1 excepted?) from this year have to carry a CAT the Trofeo's cat is about 2/3 of the way down the car. This means that it is well out of the way of the turbo, but given how hard race cars are driven will get hot enough to work.

The only reason they moved CATs upto the manifold is because they heat up quicker meaning they start to work quicker.

On both our conversions we have fitted a CAT ito the system, but are fortunate in that the Cento floorpan has the cut out for the earlier SPi models as the CAT was behind the front antiroll bar.

In effect Rob is decatting the car by fitting the manifold, and has a choice of to run without one, or fit a CAT downstream and have longer connection to landa probe after the CAT.

There were many CAT manufacturers at the AutoSport show selling there wares due to the change in regulations with some very small neat free flowing CATs available to fit near enough anywhere.

As an aside the Clio 182/Trophy like mine has a tubular manifold and 200cell CAT fitted between the down pipe and front exhaust pipe as standard. So if you see any 2nd hand Clio 182 CATs for sale cheap you know you are getting a 200cell one.

you on stand alone ECU though kev? some people say using the 2 holes on the ss pipe with oem management systen chucks up the error light, some just put the pre cat lambda in and wrap the second in tin foil and that seems to put light out. i moved both of mine so they read from all 4 pots an not just 1
